Types of Bets
Craps is essentially a betting game with a diverse range of options; it is necessary to understand the different bets involved in order to calculate your best bet.
Pass Line bet:
The Pass Line bet is one of the most popular bets in the game of craps. On a Come-out roll, the Shooter must either roll a 7 or 11, or establish a Point by rolling either a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. Pass Line bets win if the Shooter's next roll is the Point number before a 7.
don't Pass bet
This wager is the opposite of the Pass Line bet. During the Come-out roll, you' win if 2, 3 or 12 are produced. If either a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 appears, it becomes the Point. In the point phase, you' need to roll a 7 before the Point to win.
Come bet
This wager can only be taken once a Point is established. As with Pass Line bets, Come bets win if the Shooter's next roll is 7 or 11. If the Shooter's roll is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, that number becomes the Come Point. Come bets win when the Shooter rolls the Come Point before a 7.
don't Come bet
This bet is the opposite of a Come bet. In this wager, the Shooter wins when a 2, 3 or 12 is rolled, or when a 7 is rolled before the Point number.
Odds bet
Once the Point is established, you can add an Odds wager to your initial Pass Line bet.
Place to Win bet
This bet is almost like the Field bet, but you only choose one number - be it 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, and hope that it's rolled out before a 7.
Place to Lose bet
This is the opposite of the Place to Win bet, in which, the Shooter wins if he rolls a 7 before the number that a Lose bet is placed on - 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10.
Field bet
This single-roll bet can be made at any time during the game. In the event that a 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11 appear, the player wins even money. If a 2 or 12 are rolled, the player wins 2:1.
Hardways bet
In this bet the Shooter will aim for a 2, 3, 4 or 5 as a double, before it is thrown in any other combination, or before a 7 is rolled.
In addition to the above-mentioned bets, there are several proposition bets, classified as one-roll bets, which can be made at any time. However, the results of these bets only depend on the next roll.
- Craps Two: You win if you hit a 2.
- Craps Three: You win if a 3 is thrown.
- Big 6: Score a six before a 7 is rolled.
- Big 8: Roll an eight before a 7 is thrown.
- Any Seven: A bet that the next roll will be 7.
- Eleven: You win if an 11 is thrown.
- Craps Twelve: Hit a 12 on the next roll.
- Any Craps: A bet that the next roll will be 2, 3, or 12
